Council to decide on wind turbine plan

The plan for a 34-metre tall turbine that could power 45 homes is yet to be approved by North Devon Council

Plans for a 34-metre tall wind turbine on farmland near South Molton have been submitted to North Devon Council.

The owners of East Burrow Farm, south of Meshaw, say the 50kW generator would provide enough energy to power the annual equivalent of 45 homes.

A design and access statement submitted on behalf of the applicant Robert Hayball said: “It is hoped this development will be allowed as the site has good wind speed and benefits from a limited number of visual impact effects.”
