It’s hoped investment to provide new studio workshops will ‘prove a real draw’ for the Pannier Market in Bideford.

Bideford Town Council is being asked to spend £28,000 on creating eight new studio workshop units in the town's pannier market.

The suggestion will be put forward by the Market Management Committee at the full council meeting in Bideford Town Hall tonight (Thursday).

Woodcarver John Butler said: "We want to develop the creative buzz of Butchers Row.

"Visitors always respond to watching our work in progress and more studio space in the hall will prove a real draw."

It is hoped the council will provide funding for the units out of the regeneration budget.

Anyone interested in following the project can do so on the Bideford Market Project Facebook page.
