A local theatre group has toiled to brew up something extra for a national cancer charity.Braunton Productions, busy preparing for their July show The Witches of Eastwick, have presented Pancreatic Cancer UK with a cheque for £600.The money was raised following an auction of promises at Barnstaple restaurant Lilicos and will go to the only charity which is focussed solely on combating the deadly disease and supporting victims and their families."We are delighted to be able to support this truly deserving cancer charity, dear to the heart of several of our members," said society secretary Julie Scott after the cheque was presented at a recent rehearsal for the show.The spectacular Witches of Eastwick musical, about three bored modern witches in New England who conjure up Darryl Van Horne, a charmer who proves the devil to get rid of!The show is at the Queen's Theatre in Barnstaple from Wednesday, July 9 until Saturday 12, at 7.30pm plus a 2.30 matinee on the Saturday.
