A group of North Devon instructors have set up a community yoga project to bring its benefits to those who might not normally be able to do it.

Yoga teachers Hannah Stuart and Annie Delaney have formed a not for profit Community Yoga Project CIC in Barnstaple and Braunton.

The aim is to offer subsidised classes to those who are unable to attend regular classes, which can be for a variety of reasons.

The group particularly wants top work with schools, vulnerable young adults, isolated older people, those with specific health issues and carers.

The next step is to raise money and there is a fundraising day on Saturday, October 27 at North Devon School of English in Gammon walk, Barnstaple.

Entitled Revive! It will feature a variety of yoga sessions plus a wide range of relaxing therapies and is hosted from 10am-7pm in conjunction with The Focus Project.

Hannah said: “We are targeting those people that really benefit from yoga and also those that can’t afford to do it.

“We have a lovely community of yoga teachers around here and a lot are already on board and supporting us.”
