Community grant applications now open for Barnstaple projects and good causes
Barnstaple Town Council is inviting local groups, organisations or individuals to apply for funding through its Community Grant scheme
A range of grants are now available to apply for through the Barnstaple Town Council Community Grant scheme.
Local organisations and projects that make a positive difference to the town and its residents can bid for annual grants between £1,000 and £5,000 or strategic grants from £5,000 to £8,000, to run over three years, with a deadline of December 31.
The council also offers small grants of up to £1,000, which are available three times each year, with application deadlines of April 1, August 1 and December 1. Those who apply for an annual or strategic grant cannot apply for small grants in the same financial year.
The scheme is intended to provide funding to local groups and initiatives that deliver community benefits, whether through the launch of new projects, continued development of established services or one-off activities that enhance local life.
Megan Sanders, the council’s community manager, said: “We encourage local organisations, charities and community groups to explore the funding opportunities available through our grant programme.
“These grants enable the town council to support projects that have a meaningful impact on residents and contribute to the wellbeing of our community. Please be mindful of the new guidance and procedures now in place, don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.”
Applicants must be able to demonstrate good governance, sound financial management and clear benefits for Barnstaple residents.
Organisations applying for a strategic grant will also be required to arrange a pre-application discussion with the council's community manager before submitting their application.
