Community clean-up makes area sparkle

Barnstaple residents join forces to tidy up their neighbourhood

A BARNSTAPLE community has rolled up its sleeves to give the neighbourhood a good old fashioned tidy up.

People living in the Gorwell, Frankmarsh and Heppenstall areas of the town joined forces with North Devon Homes’ neighbourhood services team – as well as members of staff from Tozers Solicitors – for the action day on Thursday.

Volunteers picked litter, cut back hedges, recycled rubbish and filled the skips provided for larger items.

Deputy mayor, Lesley Brown from Frankmarsh Stores, provided a barbecue to reward those involved for all their hard work.
