THEY may be young, but aspiring artists at St Andrew's Playgroup in Barnstaple are not shy about putting a value on their work - especially when it comes to Comic Relief.The youngsters at Sticklepath Children's Centre painted an abstract work themselves using wellie boots, bright colours and lots of enthusiasm.They called it Boot Energy and promptly put a �78,000,000 price tag on it! In the run-up to Red Nose Day on Friday, those who may not be able to afford the whole asking price are being requested to donate 10 pence for the privilege of viewing the masterpiece!Boot Energy has already drawn a few admiring glances from staff and visitors, so it is going under the hammer in a sealed bid auction, which is open to all.St Andrew's Playgroup is celebrating Comic Relief on Friday with a Pyjama Day plus making and selling cakes to help raise money. If enough is raised it is rumoured a member of staff has volunteered to be painted red from top to toe.Anyone who would like to make a bid for the Boot Energy painting and help raise money for Comic Relief can post or drop them in to St Andrews Playgroup, Children's Centre, Sticklepath Community School, Woodville Estate, Barnstaple, EX31 2HH, marked "Painting" or call the centre on (01271) 379853.
