Combine harvester fire in Ashwater

Fire extinguishers were called to combat the blaze on Tuesday evening near Holsworthy.

FIRE crews were scrambled to Ashwater yesterday evening (Tues) after reports that a combine harvester was smouldering.

Fire fighters from Holsworthy and Hatherleigh attended the scene at 8.45pm to find a small fire in the rear of the vehicle.

The fire was believed to be accidental and crews extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera, extension ladder and small tools.
