Combe Martin Carnival opens this weekend and once again has a full week of entertainment on offer.
Last year the festivities went to a slightly reduced format but the full programme is restored this year, with open day on Saturday at Hollands Park.
There will be family games, stalls, bouncy castle and barbecue from 1-6pm.
The main parade is on Wednesday, August 8, setting off from the top of the village at 7.30pm, road closures will be in place.
Friday night (August 10) is the Wheelbarrow Fiesta – a mini carnival which sees imaginatively dressed teams and barrows making their way down the street from 7.30pm, followed by fireworks at the beach at around 10pm.
Other events include a duck race at the beach on Sunday (2pm), Fairy Princess night at the Village Hall on Monday (6pm), bingo on Tuesday (7pm) plus raft and kayak races at the beach on Thursday from 5pm.
The week closes with a classic car show at the Pack O’ Cards pub from 10am-3pm on Saturday, August 11.
