Victoria Park in Bideford will become a kaleidoscope of colour as North Devon Hospice hold its first Colour Me Happy race in the town. The family-friendly event involved a 3km loop of the park, while runners are pelted in brightly coloured powder. It has previously run in Holsworthy and Barnstaple, and the first Bideford event on Sunday, September 17, promises to be full of fan. The event will also see Hockings parking up and dishing out its brand new, multi-coloured ice-creams. Claire Saunders, from the hospices fundraising team, said: Colour Me Happy is something that simply has to be experienced first-hand, because you cant help but smile all day long as you get showered in this rainbow of coloured powder. The fact that Hockings are also bringing their special multi-coloured ice cream adds another dimension to the day. Were really pleased to have them as part of the day and they are certainly getting into the multi-coloured spirit. Hockings ice cream is a quintessential part of North Devon life, so were looking forward to them being part of the event. Geoff Hocking, of Hockings ice-cream, added: Our multi-coloured and multi-flavoured ice cream van is a new addition for this year, so it seems very fitting that we can bring it along to Colour Me Happy, as it seems tailor-made for an event like that. The whole day sounds as though its going to be great fun and its a great opportunity to try some of the new Hockings flavours. As a local company we support the work of North Devon Hospice because the care provided is a real lifeline to local families. So were proud to be involved in another fantastic fundraising event in aid of this great cause. Inspired by the world famous Hindu festival of Holi, Colour Me Happy is an event for all the family. North Devon Hospice is hoping to raise £20,000 through the eent to help bereaved families and children. Register for Colour Me Happy on the North Devon Hospice website or call 01271 347232.
