North Devon Hospice is hosting its first Bideford Colour Me Happy event - and Hocking’s will be there with some brand new, multi-coloured ice-creams to celebrate.

Victoria Park in Bideford will become a kaleidoscope of colour as North Devon Hospice hold its first Colour Me Happy race in the town.

The family-friendly event involved a 3km loop of the park, while runners are pelted in brightly coloured powder.

It has previously run in Holsworthy and Barnstaple, and the first Bideford event on Sunday, September 17, promises to be full of fan.

The event will also see Hocking's parking up and dishing out its brand new, multi-coloured ice-creams.

Claire Saunders, from the hospice's fundraising team, said: "Colour Me Happy is something that simply has to be experienced first-hand, because you can't help but smile all day long as you get showered in this rainbow of coloured powder.

"The fact that Hocking's are also bringing their special multi-coloured ice cream adds another dimension to the day.

"We're really pleased to have them as part of the day and they are certainly getting into the multi-coloured spirit.

"Hocking's ice cream is a quintessential part of North Devon life, so we're looking forward to them being part of the event."

Geoff Hocking, of Hocking's ice-cream, added: "Our multi-coloured and multi-flavoured ice cream van is a new addition for this year, so it seems very fitting that we can bring it along to Colour Me Happy, as it seems tailor-made for an event like that.

"The whole day sounds as though it's going to be great fun and it's a great opportunity to try some of the new Hocking's flavours.

"As a local company we support the work of North Devon Hospice because the care provided is a real lifeline to local families. So we're proud to be involved in another fantastic fundraising event in aid of this great cause."

Inspired by the world famous Hindu festival of Holi, Colour Me Happy is an event for all the family.
