The North Devon Link Road has reopened after a collision this afternoon (Monday).

The driver and passenger of a VW Motorhome were both taken to hospital after the vehicle went off the road near Stoodleigh Cross.

It was reported that the vehicle is on its side with the driver and passenger trapped.

Emergency services including the air ambulance attended the scene at around noon.

The driver was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by air ambulance, and the passenger to the same hospital by land ambulance.

Police said neither persons’ injuries are believed to be life changing or threatening.

Sergeant Dave Thubron said on Twitter: “Serious RTC A361 Stoodleigh Cross. Em Services in attendeance and en route. There may be diversions.”

In a later tweet he added: “A361 Stoodleigh RTC awaiting recovery. 1 casualty vehicle Collision. Traffic control in place please use caution.”

Traffic was heavy at the time but the road has now reopened.
