College students perform for hospice

THE North Devon College musical theatre group is putting on a show at The Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe, next Thursday, April 23, in aid of North Devon Hospice.NEXT! Is a high-energy journey from auditions to showtime featuring some of Broadway's greatest showstoppers.Lee Baxendale, the director and programme manager, said: "We are performing songs from shows such as Chorus Line, Billy Elliott, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story and many more."The students have been working hard on this show, not only as part of their studies, but also because the performance is in aid of North Devon Hospice."The students will also be running a raffle as part of the fund-raising.Gerard Fawcitt, of North Devon Hospice, said: "We are so grateful for the support and enthusiasm of the college's musical theatre performers."As a local charity, we can only raise funds in North Devon, so community fund-raising by local people is vital."To book tickets, call the box office on (01271) 324242.
