CLOWNS in all their colourful variety will be the theme at the Braunton Annual Village Fair on Monday at the Recreation Ground.The Rotary Club of Braunton have organised a packed day to include rides, games, stalls, live music, arena displays, plus football and tug-of-war competitions, all culminating in a grand fancy dress contest and parade.The event will be held in association with North Devon Day and proceeds will go to the North Devon Hospice plus local charities and organisations.It should be a day out for all the family - around the field from 11am there will be clown face painting, roundabouts, bouncy castles and prize stalls for youngsters to try, a host of art, craft, flower and plant stalls, plus a grand draw and refreshments.New for this year is a live stage, featuring a range of local musicians, including Moo Young Moon, Samba Sol, Falling Apart and more, offering a truly eclectic mix of music for all ages.An exciting array of arena events kick off at 1pm, with a Junior Sports contest featuring the traditional egg 'n' spoon, sack and wheelbarrow races, followed at 1.40 by the opening ceremony and crowning of the 2008 queen.At 3.30 Mortehoe shepherd David Kennard will be showing how it is possible for a sheep dog to round up ducks!The Circus Clowns Fancy Dress Competition will take place at 4.30, followed by a grand parade around the ground.
