An opportunity to walk from Clovelly Lifeboat Station to Appledore Lifeboat Station, a distance of 16 miles on the stunning South West Coastal Path on Saturday 11 September to raise money for the RNLI has been announced.

Leaving Clovelly at 9am with frequent marshal posts, water and first aid cover, the walk should take approximately five hours, reaching Appledore Lifeboat Station in the afternoon, with transport provided if needed to return to Clovelly.

Organised by volunteers from RNLI Appledore fundraising guild, local RNLI organiser John Wilson said: “This is always a popular walk with one hundred walkers expected again this year. The scenery is stunning with magnificent views over Bideford Bay and many walkers have completed the route several times.

“We encourage walkers to seek sponsorship but there is no pressure to achieve a set amount as we want everyone to enjoy the day and feel a sense of achievement.”
