CLOVELLY inshore lifeboat was launched for the second time in two days when she went to assist a local yacht on Friday evening (July 23).
Crew of the Lyles Green had reported engine failure three miles off Clovelly. The lifeboat Spirit of Clovelly towed the yacht to the safety of Clovelly harbour for repairs.
Lifeboat spokesman Dan Garnett said: "The yacht, from Instow, with three people on board, had struggled in light winds to make for Clovelly. With a failing diesel engine, they requested help and Clovelly's Atlantic 75 lifeboat successfully towed the stricken vessel to Clovelly harbour."
HM Coastguard attended at the quayside and gave safety advice to the crew of the 26 foot yacht.
