Police are appealing for information after a spate of thefts of clothes from vehicles in Ilfracombe.

The first incident was reported to have happened between 4.30pm on Saturday and 6.45am on Sunday in Chandlers Way in Ilfracombe.

The owner’s car was entered and clothing was taken from the vehicle. (CR/020921/18).

The second incident happened between 11pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday in Arbour Close.

A car was entered by unknown means and a hat was taken. (CR/021123/18).

Another incident happened on Sunday between 1.45am and 9am outside a property in Park Court.

The owner’s car was entered and clothing was taken in the incident. (CR/020950/18).

And on Saturday through to Sunday morning, an unattended car was entered on St Brannocks Road.

Clothing and jackets were taken from the vehicle. (CR/020992/18).

PCSO Adrienne Drury said: “We are urging the public to be vigilant when leaving cars unattended overnight.

“We would advise people not to leave any valuables in their vehicles.

“This is all currently under investigation and we are continuing to carry out enquiries into these incidents.”
