Chulmleigh Community College is celebrating after a ‘outstanding’ set of GCSE results.
The school believes it sits firmly in the top 10 per cent of schools nationally with its results, in which 37 per cent of all grades were a 7, 8 or 9, and 87 per cent of all pupils achieved a pass of grade 4 or above in English and maths.
Half of the year group achieved a gold standard EBacc pass, which requires grade 5 or higher in two sciences, English, maths and history or geography.
Headteacher Michael Johnson said: “Today is for our pupils, who have been simply superb.
“This would have been impossible without such great parenting and the support of a wonderful board of directors. I would like to make particular mention of our staff team this year; it has been a pleasure to work alongside them. They have shown such intelligence, great resilience and have unflinchingly put all their focus on making sure our pupils do the very best they can.
“We are completely delighted. Well done Chulmleigh – these are great results.”
