Bideford will be officially turning on the Christmas cheer at its big light switch on event on Sunday, December 6.

Bideford’s Christmas Wish will kick off on Bideford Quay at midday and promises more fun than ever before with the cast of Frozen, a visit from Lego Star Wars and the third Santa’s on the Run race.

The 2km race kicks off on Bideford Quay after a festive warm up, with the route winding its way around Victoria Park and back to the finish line, all raising money for Children’s Hospice South West.

Also in town will be the UK Garrison Star Wars, as well as magicians, stilt walkers and balloon modelling, a fun fair, carols, Father Christmas and his reindeer.

After the big light switch on at 5pm by special guest Emily Carey, five, Father Christmas will lead his sleigh through the town before fireworks to finish off the evening.
