Christmas board games with a difference

People at an Ilfracombe care home enjoy giant versions of classic favourites.

RESIDENTS of a care home in Ilfracombe have been treated to some larger-than-life games over the festive period.

Thanks to The Very Vintage Hire Company – a vintage and retro props hire specialists – Pinehurst Care Home has been donated some giant ‘garden games’ for the residents to enjoy.

“We really wanted to give something back to the community over Christmas and new year,” said Vintage director Carmen Croxall.

“It was such a pleasure to see the residents enjoying games of giant Connect 4, dominoes and skittles. It also bought back many happy memories for them.

“We hope it’s something that family and friends can enjoy with them too when they come to visit.”

Kerry Turton, manager of Pinehurst Care added: “They are such fabulous products. My residents have mixed level of dementia, so it was heart-warming to watch everyone reminisce – especially when Carmen started playing vintage music from an old-style grammar phone.
