Christ Church in Bear Street has had more than 400 gift-wrapped boxes for International Aid Trust’s appeal.

Donors and volunteers have also helped contributed knitted blankets and toys, as well as giving cash donations.

The appeal sends items such as clothes, toys, stationery, food and sweets to countries in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Central America alongside humanitarian and medical aid.

Among those who have contributed to Christ Chruch’s appeal are residents of Alexandra Court and Norah Bellot Court, as well as Sticklepath, Fremington and Newport methodist churches, Fremington Parish Church, Barnstaple Inner Wheel and ladies from Bideford and Newton Tracey.

Organiser Sylvia Jones said: “We realise we are very fortunate here and we want to do the best we can for under-privileged kids and people may not have anything.
“It is so impressive to see and so much love and compassion goes into them.”
