TORRIDGE Male Voice Choir has bid a happy retirement to its musical director Jim Mitchell, who had been with the Bideford and Torridge Male Voice Choirs for 12 years.Choir member Philip Pester has stepped into his shoes as the new musical director.The choir performs around 15 concerts a year and also sings at local weddings and funerals.It rehearses at Woolsery Village Hall on Tuesday evenings and welcomes new members to join its ranks."Now is a good time to come along as the first three months of the year are spent in rehearsal," said Mr Pester. "Anyone at a loose end on a Tuesday night who fancies a challenge, wants to make new friends and have fun in the process, is welcome to join us.
