Children's remembrance service in Barnstaple

THE seventh annual children's remembrance service will take place in Rock Park, Barnstaple, on Friday (Nov 6).

Around 250 youngsters from 12 Barnstaple schools will be represented at the service, which is organised by the Barnstaple branch of the Royal British Legion.

The service will start at 10-40 am, with two minutes' silence at

11am. This will be followed by the schoolchildren laying their wreaths and crosses.

The service will be conducted by Father Jon Gilbert.

Barnstaple's annual remembrance parade will take place at Rock Park on Sunday, November 8. After the two minute silence and wreath-laying, the parade will march to church for a further service conducted by Father Gilbert.
