A VERY special charity is opening its doors to members of the public to show them just how they keep North Devon moving.Every year, Go North Devon helps thousands of people with mobility issues to retain their independence.Between 10am and 3pm tomorrow (Friday), staff and volunteers are inviting anyone with temporary or permanent mobility problems to try out one of the Shopmobility Centre's scooters and powered or manual wheelchairs for themselves.Visitors will also be able to pick up information on the centre's popular "Ring and Ride" and "Transport to Health" services, as well as specialist disability advice and guidance on vehicle adaptation available through the Motability scheme.There will also be an opportunity to browse the centre's brand new range of living and mobility aids, a new venture officially launched by North Devon MP Nick Harvey.The new retail enterprise will enable Go North Devon to plug a funding shortfall and continue providing a service for its 2,500 registered members.
