Tomorrow’s autumn budget statement expected to result in a reduction for South West water customers.
SOUTH West Water customers could be set for lower water bills from April 2013, the company has announced.
It said Chancellor George Osborne is tomorrow (Tuesday) expected to confirm in his autumn statement that the Government will be helping reduce bills of some 700,000 domestic customers in the company service area by £50 each from annual bills after April 2013.
“We’re delighted David Cameron, Nick Clegg, George Osbourne and Danny Alexander are poised to tackle the unfairness which has seen three per cent of the UK’s population pay for the clean up of 30 per cent of the nation’s bathing waters,” said chief executive Chris Loughlin.
Legislation will need to be passed by Parliament before the discount can be implemented.
