Police said offenders broke into Ilfracombe Indoor Market and stole cash boxes and around £100 from charity boxes.
Detectives are investigating after charity and cash boxes were stolen from Ilfracombe Indoor Market.
Police said offenders forced a rear door to get inside the market and the Coffee Break cafe overnight on August 31.
They made an untidy search of the premises and then stole a quantity of cash, as well as an estimated £100 from five charity boxes.
Detective Constable Michael Dean, from Ilfracombe CID, said: “This is a despicable crime with offenders depriving charities of donations for their own selfish gain.
“We would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity or individuals around the market at the time of the offence.”
