People are being urged to get their bids in early ahead of a charity auction of more than 40 items of celebrity underwear. Barnstaple mum-of-two Heather Walters, 35, is holding the auction night in Woolacombe as the grand finale to her fundraising campaign for CoppaFeel. Heather was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and has since raised more than £12,000 for the awareness charity by asking women to donate their bras at Youings in Barnstaple. She also made a flash mob music video and asked celebrities to sign items of their underwear. They will all be up for auction on November 7, with £7,000 already added to the total from ticket sales alone. Heather finishes her treatment at the end of November and is already thinking about her next project. I still think its the hardest part afterwards, she said. You just kind of finish treatment and then thats it. I want to go back to work when its finished, but I really want to set up a centre for cancer support where people can go to have cups of tea and coffee, here in North Devon. Its so needed here. Among the celebrities to donate their undies are Ed Sheeran, Kelly Brook, Fearne Cotton and Manchester United players, who signed a pair of ex-striker Robin Van Persies shorts. The list also includes actress Cara Delevigne, England goalkeeper Joe Hart, diver Tom Daley and a bra signed by the cast of Hollyoaks. Even if some of them only sell for a fiver, it wouldnt matter to me, said Heather. Its going to be a symbolic night where everyone whos helped me with this is going to be in one room. To get a bid in before Tuesday, November 3, place your name, address, phone number and the name of the celebrity you wish to bid for, plus your maximum bid in an envelope. Send it to auctioneer Colin Thorne at Webbers, 9 The Square, Braunton, North Devon or email email@example.com.
