A cruise to celebrate the life of popular Ilfracombe man Les Perrin is taking place on Sunday aboard the MS Oldenburg.An inspirational man whose service with the Coastguard and youth band Blazing Sounds touched the lives of many local people, Les was sadly missed following his death aged 68 following a short illness early in 2008. Sunday's cruise boards at 2.30pm and there will be live music from saxophonist Andy Mac. It is hoped as many people as possible will join the Perrin family to remember Les as he would have wished, with laughter music and the sea.All proceeds from the event will go to the North Devon Hospice and its is hoped all Les' previous coastguard colleagues, Blazing Sounds members past and present and all his friends will join the family on the day.The cruise runs from 3-5pm and costs £12 for adults and £8 for children.Among his many roles, Les was a former deckhand aboard the Oldenburg, making his way up to Bosun.Tickets are available from the Lundy Booking Office on (01271) 863636.
