District council looks likely to approve grant to improve harbour side green space.

Councillors are being advised to approved just over £9,000 in funding for St James Park, overlooking Ilfracombe Harbour.

The proposed money comes from ‘section 106’ funds obtained from developers during the planning process and its award will be decided at the executive meeting of North Devon Council on Tuesday, January 7.

The council says the park is in need of work to bring parts of it back into wider community use, with better use of viewpoints looking over to the harbour and Verity, plus additional seating with new signs and interpretation boards.
