AN Easter tradition of 43 years continues this Good Friday as the people of Swimbridge bear a cross from St James Parish Church to a hilltop overlooking the village.All are welcome to the event which begins at 7.30am at the church with a short service then the procession to the top of Hooda Hill.The service is led by the rector, the Rev Peter Bowers who said: "This act of witness was introduced by a former Swimbridge vicar, the Rev John Reed and has been carried on ever since as our witness in Swimbridge to the Easter story," he said.
