A CONVOY of leviathan lorries will be leaving Barnstaple with a cargo of children. The annual South West Truckers children's convoy will see more than 30 lorries provided by local hauliers and an open top bus taking youngsters from the Highfield House Child Development Centre for a special day out. They will leave the Seven Brethren lorry park at 10am on Saturday, September 6, and make their way to The Milky Way leisure park at Clovelly and invite all those they pass en route to give the children a wave as they go by.For most of the children the annual charity event is a unique opportunity to ride on the giant lorries and also provides a day of fun at the leisure park.Eddie White, central chairman of the South West Truckers, said: "We apologise for any hold-ups or disruption to traffic while travelling to and from The Milky Way leisure park and we thank you all for your support in helping us to give these children a day they will always remember.
