Devon Carers, Northern Devon Healthcare Trust and HomeLife carers have been recognised for referring more than 100 people for free home fire safety visits.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service honoured those responsible in a special presentation at Barnstaple Fire Station.
Jon Worsley, group commander for North Devon, presented a certificate to celebrate 100 referrals to the fire service to Jo Morgan, manager from Devon Carers; Ellie Salfairso, compliance apprentice from North Devon District Hospital; and Sharon McNulty, operations director from HomeLife Carers.
Jon said: “We are extremely grateful to our partners who help to refer people to keep them safe in their home.
“Our partner organisations work with many people who we are not always aware of, so by working together it is in everyone’s benefit.”
Jo, from Devon Carers, said: “Being able to provide a service to ensure carers’ homes are safe for the whole family can reduce at least some of the anxiety associated with caring.”
Ellie added: “We are pleased to have established a good working relationship with Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, providing this great free service to patients in their own homes.
“We look forward to continuingly promoting this service on behalf of Northern Devon Healthcare Trust.”
Home fire safey visits take around 30 minutes and are carried out by fire safety technicians.
