Fire fighters called out to vehicle well alight on garage forecourt in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

A CAR was severely damaged in a fire in Bideford in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) despite fire fighters’ efforts to save it.

Crews from the town arrived in Northam Road at around 4.15am and found a car on a garage forecourt well alight.

They used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a covering jet to put out the flames, which severely damaged the vehicle.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.
