Car on fire in Link Road layby

Two fire engines were called to the scene of the fire at the Welcombe Copse layby near West Buckland.

FIRE crews were called out yesterday (Mon) evening to reports of a car on fire in a layby on the A361 Link Road.

The vehicle was well alight when crews from Barnstaple and South Molton arrived at the Welcombe Copse layby near West Buckland just before 8pm.

Fire fighters extinguished the blaze, which severely damaged the car, using hose reel jets. The cause is believed to be accidental.
