A CAR crashed into a McDonald’s drive-thru in Barnstaple during the morning rush hour today (Monday).

A black Audi ploughed into a fence by the fast food restaurant on the corner of Hollowtree Road and Eastern Avenue at around 8.15am.

McDonald’s customer care manager Sandra Tucker said she was sweeping the drive-thru as the car hit the fence and a sign.

“I just heard a loud noise as the car hit the fence,” she said.

“It was a bit of a shock for a Monday morning.”

Police said a white van was also involved in the collision. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
