VW van winched to safety after being spotted perched in a dangerous position on a cliff.

FIRE fighters winched a Volkswagen camper van to safety after it was spotted perched precariously on top of a Combe Martin cliff.

The village’s fire crew were called out just after 8pm last night (Wednesday) by members of the public concerned at how close the VW was to Tor Cliff at Lester Point.

No one was in the vehicle and it was winched away from the edge, before a recovery truck was called out to collect it.
