MARIE Curie Cancer Care is appealing for volunteers in the Bideford area to give up a few hours to help in street and store collections as part of their annual Great Daffodil Appeal.Local collections will take place on Saturdays, February 9 and 16, for the nationwide appeal which takes place in February and March. Supporters are encouraged to give donations for daffodil badges and wear them with dignity. This year is the charity's 60th anniversary and it would like to make 2008 the best year ever.Community fund-raiser Samantha Surridge says: "We really do need all the help we can get if we want to beat last year's total of more than £40,000 in Devon. You will be amazed at how much you can raise in just a few hours as a Great Daffodil Appeal volunteer."By donating a little of your spare time to help out with street and store collections in North Devon, you could fund two days of home care nursing for a terminally ill cancer patient in your area."To get involved call Samantha or Natalie on (01884) 703535 or email Samantha.surridge@mariecurie.org.uk
