Schoolchildren raise hundreds of pounds for local charities.

PUPILS at Pilton Community College have had a busy year fundraising for local charities.

Year 7 tutor groups took a break from normal lessons to come up with inventive ways of raising money for chosen charities North Devon Against Domestic Abuse and Children’s Hospice South West.

Teacher Matthew Hunt said: “The year group takes great pride in supporting the excellent work of local based charities, especially where fellow pupils have received their support.”

The children held a variety of stalls, raising a total of £466.08 to be split between the two charities.
