BARNSTAPLE businesses have helped raise £2,000 for local charities at a ball held at the Barnstaple Hotel on Saturday.Money raised at a prize draw and silent auction at the first ever Barnstaple Town Centre Management and Barnstaple and District Chamber of Commerce ball will be split between Amigos and the Children's Hospice South West."It was a fantastic success and only emphasised the good working relationship between the two organisations," said Barnstaple Town Centre Manager Craig Bulley."The event was attended by around 120 people representing a good cross-section of Barnstaple businesses."We hope that these will be the first of many events held by the TCM and the Barnstaple Chamber."Organisers thanked the following firms for donating prizes: St John's Garden Centre, Lytton & Lily, Wimpy, North Devon Theatres, the North Devon Gazette, Marks and Spencer, Fullam Restaurant, Net Tecs, Zero 7, Zena's, Parkwood Leisure, Banburys, Wilson Bowden, Catherine Bishop, Brend Hotels, K C Training, Boots and Scotts Cinemas.
