Police warn bike owners to be vigilant during the warmer weather

Warm weather has prompted a trend of motorcycle thefts in North Devon, police have said.

The latest to be stolen was a White Knuckle 125 bike taken from Merryside Villas at Witheridge between 2.30-10am on June 14 and later found burnt out.

It is understood the family of the victim has offered a £500 reward for information.

Police said there had also been an increase in the number of machines stolen in the Barnstaple area and reminded riders to ensure their bikes were left securely.

Anyone who witnessed anything or who has any information is asked to call 101, quoting CR/041251/15.
