A large amount of cash was stolen after thieves broke into the Somerfield store in Ilfracombe in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police say the burglars gained entry to the rear of the High Street premises between 2.40-3.30am.
They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 08452 777444, quoting reference CI/10/41.
The amount of money stolen has not been revealed at this time.
