Bideford Water Festival will once more play host to a 175ft bungee jump. Find out how to register here...

A 175ft bungee jump (pictured) is back by popular demand at Bideford Water Festival next month.

Leap from a cage above the River Torridge on Sunday, July 26, organised by the Bideford Rotary Club.

Richard Williams, co-ordinating the bungee jump, said: “Everyone had such fun last year and it was so popular that we were begged to put it on again this year.

“Places will start filling up fast now though so you must book a timed slot to be sure not to miss out.”

This year’s festival theme is ‘pirates’ and people are encouraged to jump in costume.

Rotarian Jacquie Willoughby added: “Chewbaccer and Batman put on a fabulous display last year but I am nervous how many wooden legs will survive the bungee jump?”

It is estimated some 9,000 people enjoyed the water festival last year, raising more than £12,500 for local charities.
