Building evacuated after kitchen fire in Torrington

Fire crews from Bideford and Torrington were called to the property in Castle Street on Sunday.

A BUILDING in Torrington was evacuated after a fire broke out in the kitchen on Sunday morning.

Three fire crews from Bideford and Torrington arrived at the property in Castle Street at around 9.30am after reports of a cooker on fire.

Crews found a small fire had occurred but was out on arrival, and they checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.

After the property was found to be safe and the residents were returned to their home.
