Ilfracombe’s very own singing RNLI crewman and ‘Michael Bublé’ act has launched an appeal to buy new equipment for the lifeboat.

Mark Weeks has set up a JustGiving page to buy a thermal imaging camera for Ilfracombe RNLI.

Along with fellow volunteers, Mark is hoping to raise the £3,700 for the thermal camera before the busy summer season begins. Within a few days the appeal had already reached £500 of its target.

Mark, who performs an Ultimate Michael Bublé’ tribute act under the name Mark Daniels when not lifesaving, also appeared on ITV’s A Night For The Emergency Services show just before Christmas alongside Diversity.

He said of this appeal: “This piece of kit will help crews locate people and animals, in the water and on the shoreline quicker, saving valuable minutes and in turn saving lives.

“We will be supporting the RNLI throughout our 2018 theatre tour and we would be incredibly grateful to anyone who would like to help us in reaching our target.”

Mark, who grew up and lives in Ilfracombe has been singing and touring his ‘Ultimate Michael Buble’ act for seven years.
