PUPILS at Newport School in Barnstaple have been paid a special visit by young up-and-coming Devon-based singer songwriter, Bryher Simmons.Lucky pupils were given the chance to hear Bryher perform five songs from her new album, For Ivy.Children at the school - recently awarded an Artsmark Gold Award for high standards and provision in the arts - got the chance to sing three songs themselves."Bryher talked about her life as a singer songwriter and her career," said school head teacher Frances Bell."Following the release of her new album, she has an interview with Sony next week.
