Company which will take over search and rescue operations from the RAF say there has been ‘no delays’.
The company which will take over search and rescue operations from the RAF in October has claimed there has been ‘no delays’.
Bristow Ltd responded to the Gazette’s front page article last week saying the April date was when the national contracts would begin to take effect, and the Chivenor move had always been planned for October 1.
Samantha Willenbacher, director of UK search and rescue at Bristow Helicopters Ltd, said: “The development of the base at St Athan is progressing well and to schedule.
“We commenced work at the site in November and are on track to begin pre-operational activity, including training with rescue organisations in the region, in July 2015.
“The base will go live on 1 October 2015 as per our contract with the MCA.”
