Bridge Trust splashes out for over-50s

Bideford Bridge Trust has given a boost to a group at the Torridge Pool which helps the over-50s to keep fit and meet friends

ACTIVITIES for the over-50s in and out of the Torridge Pool have been given a boost with a 1,000 grant from the Bideford Bridge Trust.

The trust money will help to subsidise the activities of the Tuesday morning over-50s group, which provides water aerobics, free swimming, Pilates, use of the gymnasium and a social meeting place.

The grant was arranged through Age Concern.

“This is a popular group in the Bideford and North area,” said fitness instructor Jason Fern. “We have from 35 to 50 people here every Tuesday. It is all about keeping people active.”
