ARMED response police officers were called to Sticklepath in Barnstaple at 9am today (Tuesday) after a man wanted in connection with a domestic incident locked himself in a house at Bickington Road.

The incident is still ongoing but it is understood the armed response team has been told to stand down.

A police press spokesman said the saga started at 7.30am this morning at an address in Pilton Street and the man was wanted in connection with a domestic incident. They said the use of tazers had been authorised.

No further details were available as of 1.30pm today.
