Bratton Fleming Pre-school receive �850 donation

A generous �850 donation to Bratton Fleming Pre-School gave the children and teachers reason to celebrate last weekend (Saturday 18th) as they hosted the official opening of their new purpose- built facility designed to boost numbers and make maths fun.

A generous �850 donation to Bratton Fleming Pre-School gave the children and teachers reason to celebrate last weekend (Saturday 18th) as they hosted the official opening of their new purpose- built facility designed to boost numbers and make maths fun.

Britannia, Part of The Co-operative Financial Services and community fund donated this money to the school to buy new equipment and get children interested in maths.

Gail Ridd- Jones a director of the pre-school said;

“We are absolutely thrilled with the support from Britannia. We are always exploring new ways to challenge and engage our children and, the pre-school places a high emphasis on developing confidence, skills and understanding in a fun, creative and enjoyable learning environment.”

With the donation, Bratton Fleming were able to purchase equipment such as; counting cans, a giant abacus, an outdoor grab and go kit and cushion numbers, all of which are designed to encourage and enhance enthusiasm for numeracy amongst the children.

Geraldine Smith, branch manager at Britannia’s Barnstaple branch, added: “Britannia’s Community Fund can help to make real and lasting differences to local communities - it is delighted to have been able to support the pre-school as it moves into its new facility.
