A nine-year-old boy is seriously ill in Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, after being involved in a collision with a car in Bideford last night (Tuesday).The incident happened at the junction of Grange Road with Chudleigh Avenue at about 8.15pm.The boy sustained a fractured skull. He was initially taken to North Devon District Hospital, but later transferred by air ambulance to Frenchay.Police said the car involved was a green Vauxhall Corsa driven by a local man.The road was closed for about eight hours and police are appealing for witnesses, who should contact them on 08452 777444 quoting incident log 940 of 19th May.
