ILFRACOMBE-in-Bloom and its dedicated volunteers are pulling out all the stops to ensure the town flourishes in a tough financial year. After news a third of its grant would be lost following the withdrawal of direct funding by North Devon Council, the In Bloom team set to work on the fund raising trail.President Margaret Sutcliffe said they were very grateful Ilfracombe town Council continued to support them, together with individuals and organisations who offered donations and help."We held successful events at Chambercombe Manor where we raised £176 and a memorable Quiz Night at the George & Dragon, which netted £183," she added. "Thank you to these venues and all who attended. We have always been a strong community-based group, with support from the people of the town. This year, you have turned up trumps, making it possible to put out at least some floral displays."There is a table top sale in support of Ilfracombe-in-Bloom at Trimstone Manor, near West Down, on Saturday from 11am.
